Terms of Service
Last updated: April 30, 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account on Covol you agree to these terms. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must also consent, which is recorded at registration.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Covol. Organisation accounts must represent a genuine community organisation and must provide a real physical address.
3. Geographic scope
Covol is offered only to users in the United States. We make no representation that the Service is appropriate or available for use outside the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
4. Student accounts
- You may sign up for opportunities at approved organisations.
- Check-in requires your physical presence at the organisation's location within the opportunity's time window.
- Service hours are recorded only after an organisation administrator confirms your attendance. Hours are not self-reported.
- Transcripts are cryptographically signed and may be independently verified. Do not attempt to falsify attendance.
5. Organisation accounts
- You must not contact students through any channel other than opportunity message threads on this platform.
- You must not share students' personal information with third parties.
- Opportunities must describe real, in-person activities at your registered address.
- You are responsible for accurately attesting attendance. False attestations may result in account suspension.
6. Prohibited conduct
You may not:
- Post messages containing phone numbers, email addresses, or external URLs — these are automatically flagged.
- Attempt to contact minors off-platform.
- Create fake accounts or falsify identity.
- Interfere with the integrity of the attendance or transcript system.
- Upload harmful, abusive, or illegal content.
7. Moderation
Platform administrators may remove content, suspend accounts, or reject organisations that violate these terms. Flagged messages are held for review and may be removed without notice.
8. Transcripts and verified records
Verified attendance records and the transcripts derived from them are made available on a best-effort basis. Covol does not guarantee that any third party (school, college, employer) will accept or act on a transcript.
9. Disclaimers
Covol is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not responsible for the safety, quality, or legality of any opportunity posted by an organisation. Students and parents should exercise their own judgement before attending any event.
10. Changes
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance.
